Client A

The Challenge

Client A had spent the majority of their marketing career in one company, rising over time to CMO. As a consequence, they were lacking in affirmation of having the right level of skills and ability for this senior role. There was a need for support in gaining a clear focus on career and self-development - taking time to think about the bigger picture and providing motivation in working towards their goals.


The Outcome

Client A quickly came to realise that they are a very competent and knowledgeable CMO, with a good foundation on which to build.

Client B

The Challenge

Client B was in a senior role and hoped to step up to CFO within the next year. Although technically very competent, they had limited opportunity to develop the leadership and other senior management skills required for such a role and wanted support and direction in gaining these.


The Outcome

Through coaching the client was able to identify their strengths and weaknesses, from which they could determine their goals and SMART objectives leading to the achievement of them, on the way to achieving their overall goal.


They gained vision and clarity and implemented a number of actions that helped them in growing their leadership and management skills.

Client C

The Challenge

Client C had recently taken up a role as head of marketing in a new company, as the most senior marketer within the organisation.

 

The CEO wanted Marketing to contribute strategically to the business and to become more central to the organisation, under the leadership of Client C. The client shared the same goals and beliefs, but needed the guidance of a more senior and experienced marketer to help them achieve this.


The Outcome

Mentoring helped build confidence in their ability and provided support, understanding and a sounding board, which was not available within the organisation.

Client D - in their own words

"I found Nicki through the CIM Mentoring program and selected her as my mentor, recognising how the wealth of experience she has acquired through her career could help me find my feet as a new Marketing Manager. 


From the first call, I found Nicki easy to talk to. I have never been mentored before so wasn’t quite sure what to expect,  but throughout our conversation we found areas in which I could do with advice and support. This included my confidence, which had been badly knocked in a previous role.


Nicki helped me to overcome this by transforming the way I looked at the situation, turning away from thinking          “what did I do wrong”. This has since allowed me to move past what happened before and gain confidence for the future.


In addition, Nicki helped me think about how to overcome work issues in my current role, such as boosting the perception of marketing in the workplace, dealing with difficult personalities, and opening up conversations such as pay. Nicki helped me to break down these challenges and take steps to overcome them. 


Finally, I shared with Nicki my ambition to one day go freelance. This is something I didn’t really have anyone else to talk to about, so particularly needed guidance on. Yet again, I found my conversations around this useful with Nicki; she understood my challenges around going freelance full time yet made me feel it is something I can do successfully. No doubt when I am ready to go fully freelance, I will be back in touch!"
